I tried a new brownie recipe. I think they turned out rather well! Of course they are ready for Valentine's Day.

Corndogs

1 1/2 C. fine yellow cornmeal
1 C. flour, plus more for dredging
2 Tbs sugar
1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. mustard powder
1 1/2 tsp. Kosher salt
1 C. milk
2 large eggs
2 Tbs peanut oil, plus more for frying
8 Kosher all beef hot dogs

Scratch Off Tickets

Make your own scratch off tickets.
1 paper you will print on
1 decorative paper for the backing
1 decoration (ribbon, button, brads, etc)
Clear Contact Paper (or easy rip tape)
acrylic paint
bargain dish soap

Make the paint. 2 parts paint (silver) to one part dish soap (Ajax lime with bleach). Print the scratch off ticket. Cover the prize selection area with contact paper or tape. Apply the paint solution so the ticket choices are not visible. This might take two coats of paint so it doesn't look streaky. When the ticket is dry, embellish it with decorative paper or ribbons.
