Card Box
This was the card box I made for my friend's wedding. It was a blue, old fashioned suit case. I ripped out the satin lining. The top was replaced by a mural of map-like paper, enhanced with music note washi tape, and embellishments of their planned destinations in Europe. For the bottom of the suitcase, I loving hand stitched in lace and tuelling ruffles. I finally found a use for my upholstery needles!

Happy Birthday
I made this lovely leather journal for my mother. I am enjoying leather working as a potential new hobby. I got excited, and forgot to take pictures of the finished product. The motif is acorns and oak leaves with a fox on the front. I sewed in two sets of pages. It has also been dyed brown and has a string closure.

hoodie
This pullover was also make from Butterick 4089 by modifying the pocket (cutting on a center fold) and using two back side pieces in lieu of 1 back and 2 fronts. I added decorative zig zag stitching around the edges.

Fleece Jacket
This fleece jacket was made with Butterick pattern 4089. It is a two sided fleece in charcoal and hot red. The zipper is also red. 1/2 yard was enough to make two jackets. I also made the black t-shirt.

Doll Bedding
I have been diligently working on doll bedding for my smallest cousin. Her American Girl Doll is getting an upgrade. This luxury bedding assortment includes a pink fitted and flat sheet, blue security blanket with white satin band, white summer comforter with aqua band, and quilt of many colors. The pillows come in foam (Mr. Clean eraser), memory beads, and poly-fill.

DIY Swiffer Wet Jet Pad
Here's what you need to make your own reusable/washable Swiffer mop pad.
1 package of Gerber padded cloth diapers
2 foot strip of sew-on Velcro per pad. Just the soft side.
Sewing machine, pins, and thread
Scissors and measuring tape
The pad is a little shorter in width than the actual mop. It really makes NO difference at all having it a bit shorter. It just has to be a little shorter if you want to be able to make two pads from one cloth diaper. You can also make these pads from old towels using a similar sewing procedure.

Happy Snack Bags
Today is the first day of spring! Happy Spring everyone. I recently came across a tutorial on Pintrest for snack bags. These bags are washable, reusable, and the perfect size for your lunch.

While measuring fabric at the store I discovered (MAAAAAATH!!) a few things. Using 1/4 yard (9") of three different coordinating cotton fabrics (45" wide -that's normal) and 1/2 yard of PUL fabric will yield six bags from this project if you cut carefully. Don't forget your 48" of Velcro.

Heating Pad
I found a nice tutorial via Pintrest the other day. I was inspired to make my own rice bags. This pattern makes two bags. You will need 1/2 yard fabric, and 4 lbs rice. I used sandalwood, vanilla, and lavender essential oils to scent mine. It cost me $5.50 to make two.
